The 2nd outing with our signs we did slightly differently. Firstly we decided not to include the signs that hadn’t worked for us on our first try. That means we no longer tested can we lend and ear? or ‘Can I Help you? as we realised in our first trial that the consumersdidn’t want to stop either because of the way the signs were worded or that it mean’t they had to take too much time out of thier routine to engage. Another interesting thing we learn’t was that the audience is more likely to respond if we talk to them asking them questions such as ‘would you like to highfive?’. Also this made people more likely to respond to us. one passerby highfived Sab and then said ‘we had made his day [sic]’, its this interaction we were hoping to achieve, we had managed to put a brightness into the usual mundaness of life.
Also our worry about weather being an issue was slightly lessened as as it was over cast on Monday however the audience still responded until it started to rain. The only thing with the weather conditions we found is that us as actors had to work harder in order to entice in the audience and gain a reaction.
